Obituary of James L. "Jim" Williams
James L. “Jim” Williams, 79 of South Peabody, died at the NSMC Salem Hospital after a short illness. He was the devoted husband of Marilyn (Waldron) Williams. He was born in Beverly, Ma on April 24, 1939, the son of the late Wallace “Ted” and Madeline (Bovio) Williams and was a graduate of Beverly High School in 1957. He then entered the US Air Force and served there for six years retiring as an Airman second class in September , 1963. Jim first worked at the United Shoe Machine Corp in Beverly as a product manager for over 15 years. He later worked at Webster Industries in Peabody, Card-tek in Lawrence, Home Depot in Danvers, and then at Expo Design in Burlington prior to his retirement. He enjoyed cooking Italian dishes, especially his meatballs. He also liked to draw and was a music enthusiast listening to his favorite rock and roll songs; but his most precious time was spent being with his family and watching his children and grandchildren grow and mature. He is survived by his wife Marilyn Williams of Peabody, his 2 sons, Timothy S. Williams and his wife Lynn of Rochester, NH, and Matt M. Williams and his wife Jean of Peabody, MA. A daughter, Cheri Ann Reynolds of Peabody, his five grandchildren, Christopher P. Williams of Rochester, NH, Sgt. Benjamin Williams and his wife Jordan of the US Marine Corp stationed at Pendleton, CA, Drake Reynolds, and Alexis A. Williams both of Peabody and Nicole Colby and her husband Josh of Melrose, a sister-in-law, Marjorie Leonard of Danvers, and his nephews Michael Leonard of Marlboro and Mark Leonard of Swampscott. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 20, 2018 from 3:00 until 7:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. His funeral will be held on Monday at 9:00 AM from the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, 140 Lynn St., Peabody at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
