Obituary of Carl L. Jones Sr.

Carl L. Jones Sr., of Peabody died Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers after a short illness. He was the devoted husband of the late Maria C. (Pace) Jones who died last year. Carl was born in Scranton, PA on February 28 ,1941 the son of the late Owen and Grace (Jenkins) Jones and was raised there before moving to Boston and was a resident of Peabody for the past 50 years. He had been a foreman at the Ganz Tire Company in Malden for 24 years prior to his retirement. He was a veteran serving in the US Navy for four years before his discharge in 1964. He had been a member of the Peabody/Lynn Lodge of Elks # 1409 and enjoyed being with his family and playing horseshoes in his backyard. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Carl L. and Laura Jones Jr. of Hamilton, a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Frank Ragusa of Hamilton, a son, Joseph Jones of Oho and a daughter, Cathy Slavin of Salem, MA, a brother and a sister, Owen Jones and Susan Jones both of Pennsylvania, 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A Family service was held at the Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody on Wednesday, May 23, 2018.
