Obituary of Mackenzie Foster
Mackenzie Foster of Denver, Colorado, passed away on Wednesday May 16, 2018 in Denver, Colorado. Mackenzie had battled with the difficult often misunderstood condition of mental illness for many years. Despite her battle, Mackenzie achieved academically and athletically. She had just completed her coursework at the University of Denver with a double major in Emerging Digital Technology and Psychology with a minor in Chinese. Prior to attending the University of Denver, she attended the Pingree School in South Hamilton. While at Pingree, Mackenzie participated in many sports most notably her favorite, hockey. A four-year member of the hockey team, she was named to a number of all-star teams and co-captained a league championship team her senior year. Academics were always a passion where she always pursued a diverse course load, to include a passion for languages where she studied German, Spanish, Portuguese and Chinese. When not pursing academics and athletics, Mackenzie had a passion for photography, art, reading and being in the water, boogie boarding, surfing, kayaking and water skiing and wake boarding at her grandparent’s house in Pennsylvania. Mackenzie leaves behind her parents, Molly and Jack Foster, her brother Reed Foster all of Peabody; her grandparents Susan and Dave Kepner of Sandy Lake, PA, and Jack Foster, Sr of Peabody, also numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Lest we not forget her beloved dogs, Kaliki of Denver and Beasley and Tillie of Peabody. Visiting hours for Mackenzie will be held on Friday June 1, at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. A private service for family and close friends will be held after. In lieu of flowers, to honor Mack’s love of learning and ice hockey, contributions may be made to her alma mater, Pingree School, in support of the girl’s ice hockey program to Pingree School, 537 Highland St, South Hamilton, MA 01982 or at www.pingree.org.
