Obituary of Donald B. Peterson, Sr.

Donald B. Peterson, Sr., 86 years, husband of Jacqueline E. Jackie (Stuart) Peterson of Largo, FL died March 11, 2002 at the Mariner Health Care in Clearwater, FL after a brief illness. Mr. Peterson was born Nov. 12, 1915 in Peabody son of the late Marcus and Nellie (Dowd) Peterson. He was raised and educated in Peabody. He then moved to Beverly and lived there for many years before moving to Largo, FL in 1979. During WWII he served in the U. S. Navy in the European Theater. He was employed as an industrial engineer for the former A. C. Lawrence Leather Co. in Peabody for 45 years until his retirement in 1979. He was a member of St. Patrick’ s Catholic Church in Largo, FL and a life member of the Indian Rocks V.F.W. Post #10094 in Indian Rocks Beach, FL. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, Donald B. Peterson, Jr. and his companion, Cara Weed of Houston, TX, John and Dawn Towey of Rangeley, ME, Kenneth and Karen Towey of Epsom, NH and James and Laura Towey of Salem; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sandra and Bill Adams of Spartanburg, SC, Marianne and Richard Reeves of Peabody and Patricia Towey and her companion Deryl Willis of Lynn; a brother, Wilbur Peterson of Peabody; three sisters, Marcia Kiley of Andover, Helen James of Lynnfield and Arlene Mogavero of Stuart, FL; 16 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Lester Peterson and Geraldine McManus. A memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 9 a.m. in St. Ann Church, Peabody followed by a committal of ashes in Calvary Cemetery, Woburn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. The family will be receiving expressions of sympathy on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Cahill-Brodeur facility at 20 Church St. 978-531-0472 of the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody.
