Obituary of William David MacKenzie

William David MacKenzie, 86, of Peabody, died Wednesday at the Beverly Hospital following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Muriel Fraser Cameron MacKenzie. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Murdo and Mary (McFee Brown) MacKenzie. Following high school, William attended Franklin Institute of Technology in Boston for his electrical degree. He then was employed at General Electric in Lynn as a Balancer of Jet Engines for 34 years before he retired. William was a veteran of the Korean War who served with the United States Army and was honorable discharged in 1954. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Heather and Amy MacKenzie both of Peabody, his two sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Lori MacKenzie of Peabody and Craig and Melinda MacKenzie of Epping, NH, and is also survived by his beloved six grandchildren, Cameron, Drew, Amanda, Paige, and Cole MacKenzie and Devlin McIntyre. A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 11:30 AM at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Please arrive at the entrance at 185 Lake St, West Peabody by 11:15 A.M. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Perkins Center for the Blind, 175 North Beacon St, Watertown, MA 02472.
