Obituary of Mary E. (Shamberger) Brazier

Mary E. (Shamberger) Brazier, 93 years of Peabody, wife of the late John F. Soares and the late Walter H. Brazier, died Sunday at the Rosewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Peabody. Mrs. Brazier was born on May 6, 1910 in Lynn daughter of the late Philo and Mary (Kurtz) Shamberger. She was raised and educated in Lynn. Before moving to Peabody in 1980, she had resided in Marblehead and Danvers. Mrs. Brazier was an activist for the North Shore Elders in Danvers for several years. She was also quite active and a Past President of the Peabody Tenants Association, the Peter A. Torigian Community Life Center and a member of the Peabody Council on Aging. Mrs. Brazier is survived by 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, John E. and Doris S. Soares of Saugus and Ernest G. Soares of CA, a grandson and his wife John F. and Janet Soares of Topsfield, 2 great granddaughters, Errin N. and Carlyn G. Soares of Topsfield and several nieces and nephews. She was also pre deceased by a granddaughter Annette T. Soares and a sister Margretta Scarnegie. Her funeral will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St., Peabody location (978-531-0472) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Wednesday 4 to 7 p.m. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Lynn.
