Obituary of Eileen C. Scaringi

Eileen C. Scaringi, 74 PEABODY -- Eileen C. Scaringi, 74, died peacefully on Thursday May 31, 2018 at the Boston Medical Center, following a brief illness. Born in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Eolanda “Yolie” (DiFabio) Scaringi. She grew up in Somerville and graduated from Somerville High School. She later earned a bachelor degree from Boston University, and a Master’s Degree in Divinity from B.U. in 1969, when she was Ordained. She lived in Peabody for over 50 years. Ms. Scaringi was a Compensation Manager with Sun Life Assurance Company in the Wellesley office, retiring in 1998. Eileen was Ordained as a Minister in the United Methodist Church in 1969. She was a long-time member of the Community Covenant Church since 1973 where she was active in many of their missions. She was involved from being a visitation coordinator, Chaired the Member Care Committee, the Worship, Prayer and Music Committee, the Deacon Board and Pastoral Relations Committee, and the Christian Education Committee among other outreach activities. While living at Brooksby Village she was also active in their Worship Community and Choir. Eileen enjoyed traveling, and devoted to family and friends. She is survived by a sister, Carolyn Doolan and her husband Steve of Tacoma, WA; two nephews, Michael Tutko and his wife Holly of Concord, NH and David Tutko and his husband Jason Joly of Danvers, and two great-nephews, Benjamin and Owen Tutko with whom she loved spending time. She was preceded in death, besides her parents, by a sister Priscilla Tutko and her husband H. Thomas Tutko. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for a visitation on Sunday June 17, 2018 from 2:00 – 3:00 PM at the Community Covenant Church, Lake St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Service at 3 P.M. at the church. Burial will be Monday at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Memorial donations may be made to New England Seafarers Mission or to the Community Covenant Church.
