Obituary of Linda J. (Neves) Silva

Linda J. (Neves) Silva, 71, of Peabody, died Thursday evening at her home surrounded by her loving family following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late John A. Silva. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Alphonse and Ledwina (Bettencourt) Neves. She was a lifelong resident of Peabody and a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1964. Linda was employed at the former United Shoe Machinery in Beverly where she worked for close to 30 years as a Customer Service Representative and she then retired. Upon her retirement, she then worked part-time for the City of Peabody at the McVann- O’Keefe Memorial Skating Rink with her daughter as an office assistant for over 5 years. She was a long-time member of the Holy Ghost in Peabody and she enjoyed doing crafts and helping set up functions at the hall as well. Her favorite endeavor though was spending time with her grandchildren listening to music and dancing with them. Linda is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Kelly Silva of Peabody and her daughter Kathy Silva and her longtime companion Matt DeLomba of Peabody, her beloved eight grandchildren, Neve, Paige, and Quentin Pelland, Ashlyn and Evan Silva, and Stephen, Stephanie, and Thomas Shoap, and is also survived by her niece, Maria Kaba of Peabody. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody and her Funeral Service will be on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. F
