Obituary of Bessie (Spiliotis) Louvaris
Bessie (Spiliotis) Louvaris, 98, of Danvers and formerly of Peabody and Wenham, died Friday evening at the Hathorne Hill Center in Danvers following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Peter Louvaris. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Viola (Kessaris) Spiliotis. She was raised and educated in Peabody, Wenham, and Beverly Schools before moving to Danvers where has lived for the past 70 years. Bessie was employed at Sylvania in Salem then transferred to Wakefield where she worked her way up to become the youngest supervisor at the plant. She worked there for many years before leaving to raise her son. She was an avid golfer and bowler. Bessie loved her neighborhood and helping her neighbors by shoveling snow and taking in their barrels. She was a lover of all animals enjoying her cat “Kitty” her last years at home. She also was a long-time member of St. Vasilios Church in Peabody. Bessie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Mary Louvaris of Lynn, her beloved two grandsons, Michael P. Louvaris, Jr of Lynn and Peter J. Louvaris of Medford and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Chris, Paul, Charlie, Ruby, and Anne. Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial services will be private.
