Obituary of Kenneth H. Ledbury

Kenneth H. Ledbury, 84, of Peabody died early Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at his home with his family at his side after a 13 year battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was the devoted husband of Nancy Anne (Muldoon) Ledbury with whom he shared 62 years of marriage. Ken was born in Malden, MA on February 25, 1934, the son of the late John Herald and Edith (Lane) Ledbury and was raised in Everett where he played on the Baseball and Basketball Programs and was a graduate from Everett High School in 1952. He attended Northeastern University and then entered the US Air Force serving during the Korean War. Following his discharge, he was employed as an electronic technician for the Western Union for over 25 years. He later worked at the John Accari & Sons company for 12 years Retiring in 1999. Ken was very active in the masons, first, in his youth as a member of the Demolay where he received the special value Award and had been a member of the Galilean and later The Mt. Vernon-Galilean Lodge of Masons of Malden for 60 years and was 50 years as Past Master. He also was a member of the Wakefield lodge of Elks and played in their golf league winning a Few tournaments. He had served as a director and past president of the Peabody Youth Hockey program for many years. He is survived by his wife Nancy, a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Jack Cagnina of Framingham; three sons and daughters-in-laws, Kenneth and Sally Ledbury of Ipswich, David and Laura Ledbury of Salisbury and John and Leizel Ledbury of Peabody, his precious ten grandchildren, Heather, Matthew, David Jr., Justin, Nathaniel, and Jade Ledbury and Taryn, John, Ashley and Marissa Cagnina; a great granddaughter, Ava Cagnina; his sisters-in-law, Gloria Ledbury, wife of his late brother, Richard L. Ledbury of Marblehead, niece and nephews Rick,Alan,Steve and Karen Vigneault. Barbara Muldoon, wife of the late Charles E. Muldoon Jr.,brother of Nancy and his late nephew Chuck Muldoon of Rome, NY; Colleen Seeber of SC. Chris Acres and family of Malden. Also many relatives from Nova Scotia and Massachusetts. A Visitation will be held on Friday at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility from 4:00 until 8:00 PM . A Funeral Service will be held there on Saturday June 16, 2018 at 11:30 A.M. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
