Obituary of John R. Nicolini
John R. Nicolini, 83, of West Peabody, died early
Tuesday morning at his residence following a short illness. He was the husband of
the late Joyce Viola (Conway) Nicolini.
He was born Boston, Ma. on March 9, 1920
the son of the late Lawrence and Rebecca (Brady) Nicolini and was raised in Beachmont section of Revere and had resided in West Peabody for the past 38 years.
He was a graduate of Revere High School in 1939 where he excelled in sports and was captain of the Football Team and also played on the Baseball, Hockey and Basketball teams. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriot Fan.
He entered the US Navy during WW 11 and served as a pilot in the Pacific theatre operation.
Following his discharge, he worked for then NE Tel & Tel Co., now Vorizen for 35 years as the Business
Manager of the Labor Union # 2321 until his retirement 16 years ago.
He was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Adelaide’ s Church, West Peabody and distributed Communion to shut-ins and Nursing Homes.
He is survived by a son, Thomas Nicolini and his fiancé, Ann Quintal of Peabody, a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Kevin Gagnon of
Pepperell, Ma., a brother, Lawrence Nicolini of Danvers, 4 sisters and brothers-in-law,
Florence and William Boudreau and Connie and Joseph Simonson all of Nashua, NH,
Ernestine and Dominic Parro of Melrose and Paula and William De Cain of Revere; 3 grandchildren, Jenny Nicolini of Peabody, Jeremy and Theresa Gagnon of Pepperell and
Many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Phyllis Chaffee.
His Funeral will be held on Friday at 9:00 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody
Facility followed by a Funeral Mass in St Adelaide’ s Church, Lowell St., West Peabody
At 10:00 a.m. Burial in Puritan Lawn Mem. Park, Peabody. Visiting hours on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Expressions of sympathy may
