Obituary of James P. Jackson
James P. Jackson, 85 PEABODY -- James P. Jackson, 85, beloved husband of the late Mary J. (Smith) Jackson, died peacefully on Tuesday July 10, 2018, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, while in the comforting presence of his family, following a brief illness. Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late John and Anna (Daum) Jackson. He grew up in Saugus where he attended schools. Mr. Jackson had served in the National Guard and U.S. Army, besides being in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. Mr. Jackson worked with Salem Shoe, and later was a Machinist with Ruggles-Klingeman of Salem for many years before retiring. Jim enjoyed being active with the Peabody Golden Agers, playing cards and other activities at the Torigian Community Life Center of Peabody. He was a caller at Bingo, and enjoyed bowling at Metro Bowl. His strongest passion and devotion was to his family, and cherished the weekly dinners. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He is survived by two sons and two daughters, James Jackson of Salem, Peter Jackson of Beverly, Jill Jackson of Peabody, and Joyce Levesque of Ossipee, NH; 12 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. He also leaves four brothers, Neil Jackson of Gloucester, Wayne Jackson of Gloucester, Richard Jackson of Michigan, and Danny Jackson of Gloucester; two sisters, Barbara Lemoine of Nova Scotia and Gail Campbell of California, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death, besides his wife and parents, by a daughter Jeannette Jackson, and five brothers. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for a visitation on Sunday from 2 – 5 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. remation will follow and a private Family Committal Service at a future date.
