Obituary of Nelson C. Edwards

Nelson C. Edwards,72, of Raymond, NH and formerly of Peabody, MA, died early Saturday, July 14, 2018 at his home in the loving comfort of his family. He was the beloved husband of Linda (Leonard) Edwards with whom he shared 50 wonderful years of Marriage. He was a loving father to Matthew and his wife whom he called his daughter Sarah and the cherished grandfather of Isaac. He was also survived by his wonderful brother Herb. Nel’s most important thing in life was his family and friends. He was born in Lynn, MA the son of the late Nelson F. and Ella M (Hussey) Edwards and was educated there graduating from Lynn English High School in 1964. He then entered the US Army and valiantly fought in the Vietnam War. Upon his discharge, he was employed at Norelco Company in Lynn for 20 years before retiring from Shore Country Day School in Beverly, MA. Hel was a member of the Lake Shore Park United Methodist Church and the Grace United Methodist church in Lynn and enjoyed singing in the choir at Lake Shore Park . He enjoyed walking, word searches, reading and singing and he was a big fan of Diana Ross which bought fun and joy to Nel, but most important he loved being with his family and enjoyed every moment. His devotion to his family was who he was; a loving, devoted and caring man. He also leaves a sister in law Vicki and her husband Warren Trott, his sister in law, Nancy and her husband Robert Senfleben and brother in law Paul and his wife Laurie Capozzi. He loved and enjoyed all his nephews and nieces and the fun times they had together. He was the brother of the late Lawrence and Patricia Edwards. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 from 3:00 until 7:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. His Funeral Service will the held on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at the Grace United Methodist Church, 374 Broadway, Lynn, MA at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
