Obituary of Theresa Ann (Gosselin) Tompkins

Theresa Ann (Gosselin) Tompkins, 87, of Reading and New Port Richey, Florida, died early Saturday, August 4, 2018 at the Rosewood Nursing Center Peabody after a short illness. She was the wife of the late Milton B. Tompkins. She was born in Berlin, NH, on March 28, 1931, the daughter of the late Lafayette and Anne (Garland) Gosselin and was raised and educated there graduating from Berlin High School in 1949. She then moved to Reading, MA where she resided for 32 years before moving to New Port Richey, FL. She opened and operated Annie’s Book Stop there for 32 years before moving recently back to Reading, MA. While in Florida, she enjoyed Reading and Ten Pin Bowling becoming a member of the Florida State 600 Club by bowling a three string total over 600. She also enjoyed watching sports, golfing and travel including her most memorable trip to England and Scotland with her husband playing golf on the coveted golf courses. She was the mother of her daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Gary Ring of Peabody, her son, William Tompkins of Westhampton, N.Y, and her daughter the late JoAnn Bosteels. She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Lafayette and Roberta Gosselin of Peabody, a sister, Blanche Vogel of Tallahassee, FL, her precious grandchildren, Eric, Bryan and Timothy Ring, Melissa and Kristin Bosteels, Elizabeth Lajoie and Tanner Tompkins, her five great grandchildren, Chloe and Siena Ring, and Sophia, Theodore and Fiona Lajoie and many nieces and nephews. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Her Funeral Service will be held there on Wednesday at 12 Noon. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
