Obituary of Ann M. Hynes

Ann M. Hynes, 72, of Peabody, passed peacefully at her home surrounded by her family following a brief illness. Ann was born in Somerville and was the daughter of the late Bernard and Eleanor (Keefe) Hynes. She was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School. Ann was a star employee in the many jobs she held over the years, often receiving commendations and awards for her stellar performance. She worked for the Department of Defense at Hanscomb Air Force Base, General Electric and finally before retiring, she worked at Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody. Ann was a dedicated mother, she was artistic, creative and had “the family sense of humor” and never held back from using it. She enjoyed painting, crafting, loved animals and embraced the spirit of family including her own and her siblings. Ann truly lived her life to the end with acceptance, dignity and grace. She followed her own path and led others on it with her strength and willing attitude. She will be deeply missed. Her inspiration will always live on. She is survived by her two children, Troy Cann of Peabody and Linda Quinn of Arizona, her five siblings, Bernard Hynes of Port Charlotte, FL, Neal Hynes of Methuen, Gary Hynes of Peabody, Eileen Hynes of Peabody and Tracey L. Hynes of Port Charlotte, FL, and is also survived by her grandson, Trey Cann of Peabody as well as three nephews and three nieces. She was predeceased by her brothers, Stephen and Lawrence Hynes. Following cremations, her visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 3:00 until 5:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody and her Funeral Service will be held at 4:30 PM on Sunday to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
