Obituary of Margaret W. Sherman
Margaret W. (Wallwork) Sherman, 85, of Peabody, MA and formerly of Cape Cod and Framingham, MA, died August 11,2018 peacefully at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers with her family at her side. She was the wife of the late James E. Sherman Jr. who died in 2013. Margaret was born in Newton, MA on August 6, 1933, the daughter of the late Thomas F. and Margaret J. (MacInnes) Wallwork and had resided in Newton and Framingham before retiring to Sagamore on the Cape. She had resided in Peabody for the past 4 years. Margaret had been an activities director and later admissions director at St. Patrick’s Manor in Framingham for 12 years prior to her retirement. She and her husband moved to Sagamore and she became involved as a volunteer at the Falmouth Hospital and was very active in St. Theresa’s and Corpus Christi Churches there. While in Framingham she had belonged to The Ladies Guild at St. George’s Church and for the past 4 years was involved in many activities at Brooksby Village in Peabody. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed doing needlepoint, cooking her favorite recipes and helping others. Margaret is survived by her children, James E. Sherman III and his wife Lisa, Phillip J. Sherman and his wife Melissa, Daniel J. Sherman, Kathleen S. Murphy and her husband Michael and Deborah S. O’Sullivan and her husband Michael, a brother and sister-in-law, Edwin N. and Janice Wallwork of Waltham, a sister, Eleanor W. O’Connor of Dedham, seven beloved grandchildren, Colin, Claire, Thomas, Harrison, Hannah, Ryan and Casey and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Genevieve Steffens, Thomas, James A and Robert F. Wallwork. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 17, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Brooksby Village Chapel, 200 Brooksby Village Drive Peabody MA. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. A Family burial will be held later at the National Veterans Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
