Obituary of Daniel "Ben" Davis
Daniel B. Ben Davis, 76, of So. Peabody, died early
Saturday morning at his home after a long illness. He was the husband of Phyllis
M. (Geraghty) Davis who died in September.
He was born and raised in County
Cork, Ireland, the son of the late Charles and Josephine (Donegan) Davis and had
Resided in Peabody for the past 50 years.
He had been a member of the Local 290 Laborer’ s Union in Lynn working
mostly as a mason for over 35 years prior to his retirement 12 years ago.
He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in Korea with the U.S. Army from
1952 until his discharge in 1957.
He was a member of the A.O.H. Div. 18 of Salem and was a daily communicant
of St. Ann’ s Church, So. Peabody.
He is survived by four sons, Daniel and
his wife Peggy Davis of Lynn, Thomas and his wife Donna , Glen and his wife
Nancy Davis and Brian and his fiancé, Diane Giardina all of Peabody; 2 brothers,
John and Cornelius Davis both of Ireland, a Sister, Nora Owens of England , nine
Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late
Gerald Davis.
His Funeral will be held on Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. from the
Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St., Peabody facility
Followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann’ s Church, Lynn St., Peabody at 9:00 a.m.
Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Visiting hours on Tuesday from
4:00 until 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Expressions of sympathy
may be made to Hospice of No. Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, Ma. 01923.
