Obituary of Ann M Richardson

Ann M (Galda) Richardson, 94, of Peabody, died peacefully on August 11, 2018 after a long illness surrounded by her loving family at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. She was the wife of the late Edward R. Richardson with whom she shared 25 years of marriage. She was predeceased by her son Keith and grandson Christopher. She was the youngest of nine children and predeceased by her brothers Leo, Michael, Albert, John, Frank, Joseph and sisters Mary and Frances. Ann was born on December 18, 1923 in Mt. Carmel. PA and was the daughter of Joseph and Agnes Galda. Upon graduation in 1941, she was employed as a secretary for the U.S. Army signal Corps in Philadelphia, PA. She later moved to Peabody where she was employed at Rogers Jewelry in Salem, and then at Filene’s Store in Peabody. She also worked at J.B. Thomas Hospital in Peabody for 17 years from which she retired. She is survived by her five children, Roger Richardson and his wife Donna of East Hampstead, NH, Janice King and her husband Tom of Perryville MD, Kevin Richardson and his fiancé Ina Rossman of Danvers, Linda Poole and her husband Glenn of Buxton, ME, and Brian Richardson of Peabdoy, In addition, she leaves her ten grandchildren, Marc, Amy, Erin, Jason, Derek, Darrell, Darren, Doug, Jeffrey and Joel as well as nine great grandchildren, Kendall, Brennen, Brianna, Kailani, Lila, Gerald, Aldridge, Finnley, and Violet. Special remembrances to her dearest friends Doris Decker, Gloria Daley of Peabody, and the late Louise O’Brien of ME. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Beverly Hospital and Kaplan Family Hospice House for their thoughtful and caring services. Visitation will be held on Monday August 20th from 10 AM until 12:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home 82 Lynn St, Peabody followed by her Funeral Service at 12:00 PM at the funeral home to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the National Kidney Foundation, 209 W. Central St, Natick, MA 01760.
