Obituary of Arminda S. Coito

Arminda S. (Saraiva) Coito, 92, of Peabody, died peacefully on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at the Sunrise Senior Living in Lynnfield with her family at her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Peabody Police Officer Henry N. Coito with whom she shared 69 years of marriage. She was born in Brockton, MA on May 14, 1926 the daughter of the late Cezar and Mary (Perfeito) Saraiva and was raised there before moving to Peabody 64 years ago. Minda, as she loved to be called, was a very hard working and proud woman who held many jobs in her life. From a very young girl working in a Salem Shoe factory and on to numerous manufacturing jobs. She also was employed at Lynn Union Hospital as an assistant in the blood lab. She later became a sales associate at Sears Department Store in Peabody prior to her retirement. She loved interacting with her customers and their children and was always highly praised by them for her helpfulness and kindness. Minda’s pride and joy were her family. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Henry T. and Linda Coito of Vineyard Haven, MA, a daughter and son-in-law, Linda R. and Robert M. Lupi of Lynn, her precious grandchildren, Hilary and Raymond Andolfo, Steven and Lisa Coito, Jennifer Coito, and Rebecca and Brian Parker, her adored great grandchildren, Sean and Emily Coito, Raymond Andolfo Jr. and Rachael Andolfo, and Emerson and Cullen Parker and many nieces and nephews. A Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at 9:00 AM from the Funeral Home followed by Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, 141 Lynn St., Peabody at 10:00 AM.
