Obituary of Manuel S Silva
Manuel S. Silva, 72, of Peabody, died Saturday afternoon at the Salem Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Graciosa, Azores, Portugal, he was the son of the late Joao and Deolinda (Santos) da Silva. Manny worked at Salem Hospital as a custodian in the environmental department and also was a custodian at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Peabody as well. Manny has spent most of his life in Peabody and was recently at the Rosewood Nursing Home for the past six months and received exceptional care there. He enjoyed watching sports especially golf and the New England Patriots and was huge fan of Benfica SC soccer team as well. He is survived by his sister, Maria and her husband Tomaz Da Guia of Peabody, his niece and nephews, John and Ann Tomaz of Peabody, Fernando and Kathy McCormick of Haverhill, and Deolinda and Saul Gomes of Peabody, great nephews, Patrick Tomaz, John and Maura Tomaz, SGT Alexandre Gomes of Peabody, Zulia Tomaz and by his God Child, Christina Gomes. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 5 until 8 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody and his Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:30 AM Our Lady of Fatima Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Special Olympics Massachusetts, 512 Forest St, Marlborough, MA 01752
