Obituary of Karen A. Meagher

Karen A (Reynolds) Meagher, 60, of Peabody, died Friday evening with her family by her side at the Kaplan family Hospice House in Danvers, following a 15-month battle against cancer. She was the devoted wife of Sean Meagher with whom she shared over 37 years of marriage. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Thomas H. Reynolds, Jr and Barbara (Ward) Reynolds. She was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School, class of 1976. She continued her education at Salem State College and received her bachelor’s degree in education in 1980. She was a kindergarten teacher at the New Beginnings pre-school where she taught for 7 years. She then was employed with the city of Peabody as a Benefits Manager for 16 years before her illness. Karen enjoyed sewing, reading, quilting, and beading jewelry and also enjoyed the summertime at a family camp on Lake Winnipesauke, NH. Her favorite endeavor though was spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed. Besides her loving husband, she is survived by her son Sean Meagher, Jr, of Peabody, her daughter and son-in-law, Meghan and Jesse Carpenter of Beverly, her brother, Thomas H. Reynolds III and his wife Linda of Salem, and by her beloved grandchildren, Owen and Merrick Carpenter. Following cremation, visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. He Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home and burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
