Obituary of Gerard A. Davis

Obituary for Gerard Anthony Lamont Davis A life lived…. Gerard Anthony Lamont Davis was born January 19, 1969, in Rochester, New York. He was the third child born to Clarence Davis Sr., and Janet Maria Hawkins Davis. Growing up in Rochester, Gerard was affectionately known as Anthony or “Tony” by some. He had a zest for living life adventurously. His love for baseball, football and Rock-n-Roll music was known by all of his childhood friends who found him pretty easy to get along with on multiple levels. Gerard graduated from Josh Lofton High School, and shortly thereafter entered the United States Navy. He wanted to be able to see the world and to gain technical experience, and this became the platform for which he used to get his fresh start in life. He served on active duty for approximately 2 years until health issues with his kidney’s became acute. Gerard returned to Rochester and discovered that he loved working with electronics. This love prompted Gerard to pursue a few careers involving electronic repair and intermediate electrical work. In 1990, he became gainfully employed at the Harris Corporation in Rochester, and later fathered his eldest son, Parris Anthony Davis with his then companion, Ms. Paula Daniels. During the summer of 2003, Gerard relocated to Woodstock, Georgia, and began work as an electrician for a reputable company in Woodstock. It is during this phase of his life that he professed Christ for the first time, and sealed the deal with a water baptism by immersion at the Allen Temple African Methodist Episcopal Church of Woodstock, Georgia. In 2006, he met the lovely Helen Muasya whom he professed to all that he was ‘head over heels in love!” His love for Helen prompted him to relocate yet again to the Boston area in 2006. Gerard and Helen entered into holy matrimony on August 23, 2008. With their union of love they produced three beautiful boys: Tyler (age 9), Evan “Nico” (age 7), and Alexander “Zan” (age 2). Though he could not physically be with all of his children, each one held a special place in his heart. In fact, family in general brightened his life daily, despite the struggles he endured with his failed kidneys. He filled the remainder of his days with avid political debates involving analysis of our current administration, cooking fabulous treats he loved as a child for his family, and raising his boys with his wife and extended family doing only what he could in the household despite his failing health and weakened state. Gerard departed this life at the young age of 49 on September 4, 2018. He is preceded in death by his father, Clarence Davis, Sr. He leaves to cherish his precious memories; A devoted wife of 10 years, Hellen Muasya Davis; 4 sons: Parris, Tyler, Evan and Alexander; his mother Janet Maria Davis of Woodstock, GA; his siblings: William Hemingway, and wife Rochelle of Fayetteville, North Carolina, his sister, Dana L. Burley, and husband Michael of Marietta, GA, his eldest brother from his parents union, MGy Sgt. Clarence A. Davis Jr., and wife Alison of Jacksonville, North Carolina, his youngest brother Sheldon M. Davis, and his wife Karen of Woodstock, GA., and his only granddaughter Ny’la Davis. Also left to cherish his memories is his second mother, Eunice Muasya whom he dearly loved, two sisters in laws, Winnie with his niece Savannah, and Eva Muasya as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Rest in Peace our Dearly Beloved
