Obituary of Albert W. Woish

Albert W. Woish, 87, of Peabody, died Thursday evening at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of the late Natalie (DeVarennes) Woish. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Julius and Edna (Stanulivich) Woish. He was raised and educated in Hyde Park and later Eletrical Trade School in Cheyenne, WY and has lived in Peabody for the past 49 years. Albert was a veteran of the Korean War who served with the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in March of 1955. Following his military service, he was employed with Unistrut Northeast in Woburn and Canton and retired as vice-president of sales many years ago. He also was a member of the American Legion Post #0462. Albert is survived by his son, Steven Woish and his daughter, Pamela Eliopoulos, both of Peabody, his beloved grandchildren, Julia and her husband Christopher Cahill, Nicholas Eliopoulos, and Steven Woish Jr, and Jaclyn Woish, his sister, Joan MacDonald of Boynton Beach, FL, and is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his siblings, John, Chester, Henry, Edward, and Stanley Woish, and Lorraine Osgood. Family and friends will gather on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody, followed by his Graveside Service at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Lake St, Peabody at 11:00 AM to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody. Expressions of sympathy can be made in his name to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
