Obituary of Arnold T. Kolhonen

Arnold T. Kolhonen, 88, of Beverly, died on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at the Care One Essex Park Nursing Center, Beverly. He was born in Swampscott, MA on January 6, 1930, the son of the late Kasper and Nora (Carrigan) Kolhonen and was raised in Peabody. He had been raised by his adopted mother, the late Margaret Jordan. Arnold first enlisted in the US Army during WW 11 in 1946 serving in the Phillipines and later in 1947 joined the US Air Force and served in the Korean War prior to his discharge in 1953. He had been a security officer at the Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, CA for 17 years retiring in 1991 and returned to Beverly, MA. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, taking rides to Maine and visiting relatives in Finland. Arnold shared many years with his companion , the late Doris Roscoe and her family Lorena Ortiz of Newburyport, Lidna Clarizia of Beverly and Donna Winslow of Danvers. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Cynthia Kolhonen, a niece and nephew, Ellen and Steven, and by many cousins. He was the brother of the late Warren Kolhonen. In accordance to his wishes there are no services planed. Arrangements are by the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home of Peabody.
