Obituary of Marion "Marney" (Nicolo) Raponi

Marion “Marney” (Nicolo) Raponi, 90, of Peabody died peacefully on Monday, October 8, 2018 with her family by her side. She was the devoted wife of the late Vincent A. “Vinnie” Raponi. She was born in Saugus, MA on April 19, 1928, the daughter of the late Diego and Marianna (Compolo) Nicolo and was raised there, graduating from Saugus High School in 1946. She had been a bookkeeper in the family business at L & V Disposal in Saugus for many years. She later was a health aide at the Pilgrim House Nursing Home in Peabody prior to her retirement. Marney loved her home, gardening, cooking for holidays and family gatherings. She was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, but her most cherished time was spent being with her family, especially her grandchildren, which were first and foremost to her. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Rosanne and William Bakos of Westford, Ann-Marie and Timothy O’Keefe; Vincent A. Raponi Jr. and his fiancée, Mary Larrabee, and Toni and Scott Dixon all of Peabody, a sister, Nancy Ciarlone of Revere. She also leaves her six cherished grandchildren, Vincent Raponi lll and his wife Kara, Nicholas Raponi and his wife Amanda, Jonathan Bakos and his wife Amanda Kilton, Sarah O’Keefe, Cody Raponi, and Sofia Dixon, her two great grandchildren, Vincent A. Raponi IV and Marianna Judith Raponi and many nieces, nephews, sisters-in law, brother-in-law, and friends. She was the sister of the late Demetrie, James, Joseph, Salvatore and Nicholas Nicolo and Angie D’Amico and was also predeceased by her daughter-in-law Judith Raponi A Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:00 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Baptist Church at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
