Obituary of Ruth E. (Conway) Moore

Ruth Eleanor (Conway) Moore, age 100, died peacefully on Monday, October 8, 2018 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers with her son Rob by her side. She was predeceased by her husband John M. Moore Sr., her daughter Barbara Delaney Moore, her sister Ethel Harkins and her brother, Martin Conway and is survived by her sons, John M Moore Jr. of Cape Coral, Florida and Robert M Moore of Burlington, MA, and a sister Eileen Gallant of Peabody. She was born in Peabody on April 21, 1918 and was a lifelong resident of Peabody graduating from Peabody High School in 1936 and later from North Shore Community College in 1977. She had worked at the Citrus Fruit Co in Lynn, MA and then was the Secretary to the President of the former Warren Five Cent Savings Bank and now TD Bank of Peabody for 17 years prior to her retirement. Ruth was a staple at the Peabody senior center where she spent 5 days a week volunteering running events and enjoying quality time with her many devoted friends. Ruth will be remembered for her keen sense of humor her loving nature and her caring demeanor. An avid Red Sox fan who never missed a game, Ruth will be cheering on the Red Sox from heaven. She had been a member of the Peabody Women’s Club, the Professional Secretaries Club and served as prefect at St. Ann’s Ladies Sodality. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 11, from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Her funeral will be held on Friday, October 12, at 9:00 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, 140 Lynn St., Peabody at 10:00 AM.
