Obituary of Alan E Rose
Alan E Rose, 85, of Peabody, died on Saturday, September 29, with his family by his side following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Martie M. (Head) Rose, with whom he shared over 62 years of marriage. Born in Springfield, MA he was the son of the late George and Mildred (Johnson) Rose. His early upbringing was in Yalesville, CT and Ipswich, MA before moving to Shenandoah, Iowa where he graduated from high school. He resided in Peabody, MA and Merrymeeting Lake in New Durham, NH for the past 55 years. Alan was a graduate of the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and started his career with General Electric before moving to GTE Sylvania where he retired in 1986 as the Director of Financial Analysis. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his two sons, Kyle Rose and his husband Joseph Suarez of Glastonbury, CT and Gregory Rose of Portland, CT, his sister, Gail Biggs of Boerne, TX and by his beloved grandchildren, Kelsey, Justin, Samantha, Tyler, Alexandra, and many devoted cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Edward Rose. Following cremation, a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 20th at 10:15am at the Brooksby Village Chapel, 300 Brooksby Village Drive, Peabody, MA to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, should friends desire, memorial contributions may be sent to the Merrymeeting Lake Association, Land Conservation Fund, PO Box 468, New Durham, NH 03855.
