Obituary of Despina P. (George) Howarth
Despina P. (George) Howarth, 78, of Peabody, died early Sunday morning at Union Hospital after being stricken at home. She was the devoted wife of Kenneth Howarth, with whom she shared over 58 years of marriage.
Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Georgia George. She was a lifelong resident of Peabody and attended Peabody Public Schools.
She enjoyed cooking and was very devoted to husband and children and later on with her grandchildren. She was a former member of the Eastern Star in Peabody.
Besides her loving husband Kenneth, she is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Lana and David Stevenson of Middleton, Deborah Dever and Darlene Mistretta, both of Peabody; 3 grandchildren, Jason and David Mistretta and Leigh Dever all of Peabody. She was the sister of the late John, Hercules, Christopher, and Charles George.
Her funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
