Obituary of Edward Francis Mullarkey

Edward Francis Mullarkey, 91, of Peabody, died late Tuesday evening at the Haven Healthcare Nursing Home, in Hampton, NH following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of the late Ann (Zilinsky) Mullarkey with whom he shared over 65 years of marriage. Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late John and Ellen (Durkin) Mullarkey. He was a lifelong resident of Peabody, attended Peabody Public Schools and was a graduate of Peabody High School. He worked in the leather industry as a shaver and retired from Salem Suede in Salem many years ago. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed boating, camping and fishing and for 20 years had a camp in New Hampshire. He also enjoyed square dancing with his wife and for ten years wintered at his condo in Florida. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Robert Brown of Hampton, New Hampshire, three grandchildren, Sean and his wife Debra Ouellette, Jennifer Ouellette and Michael Ouellette, and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late John and William Mullarkey and Mary Godvin. His funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, at the New Facility, 82 LYNN STREET, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:00 NOON in St. Ann’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial on Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Peter A. Torigian Comunity Life Center, 79 Central St.,, Peabody, MA 01960.
