Obituary of Gerald "Jerry" Jordan
Gerald “Jerry” Jordan, 80, of Peabody and formerly of Lynn, died Wednesday morning at the Hunt Nursing Home in Danvers following a brief illness. Born in Laconia, NH, he was the son of the late Hersey and Jane (Mansfield) Jordan. He was raised and educated in Lynn and Peabody and was a graduate of Essex Agricultural School in Danvers, class of 1958. Jerry held many jobs over the years from owning a florist shop, to being a teacher and Dean of Students at Thompson Academy, which was a residential boarding school for boys. He owned his own construction company, Jordan Construction of Peabody, and later became the head cook for the Haven from Hunger before retiring many years ago. Jerry was a long time Mason for over 50 years with the Jordan Lodge AF & AM of Peabody and he held many prominent positions from Master to District Deputy Grand Master. Jerry is survived by his sister, Carol Eaton of Millis, niece and personal representative, Linda Quigley of Peabody and also by several other nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was predeceased by his brother Russell Jordan and sister Ruth Truesdale. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM with a Masonic Service at 7:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody and his Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Lake St, Peabody.
