Obituary of Basil "Bill" Katsulis

Basil “Bill” Katsulis, 82, of Peabody, died peacefully early Sunday morning at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Frances Katsulis with whom he shared over 56 years of marriage. Born in Cambridge, he was the son of the late James and Georgia (Demetrakakis) Katsulis. He was raised and educated in Cambridge and was a longtime resident of Peabody. Following his high school graduation, Bill attended Wentworth Institute and received his associate’s degree and then he continued on at Northeastern University and received his bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Bill was employed with the Raytheon Company as an engineer and traveled throughout the world and most notably to Kwajalein, Marshall Islands retiring in 2001 after 44 years. Bill served for over 30 years with the United States Army Reserve and was discharged a Master Sergeant. Bill was a member of St. Vasilios Church where he served several years on the church board. Besides his loving wife of 56 years, Bill is survived by his son, Michael and his wife Carol Katsulis of Haverhill, his daughter Jennifer and her husband Lindsey Humphrey of East Hampstead, NH, his sister Christine Katsulis of Arlington, his brothers-in-law, Costa and his wife Donna Pleicones of Columbia, SC, and Vincent Panico of Cambridge, and is also survived by his beloved three grandchildren, Lauren, Daniel, and Christopher Humphrey, and by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Jennie Panico. His funeral will be on Friday at 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody, followed by his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Donations can be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St, Framingham, MA
