Obituary of Arleen (Epstein) Altavilla

Arleen (Epstein) Altavilla, age 74, entered into the Kingdom of God on November 1, 2018. She was the wife of the late Ralphael Altavilla. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Bessie (Rosenthal) Epstein. She grew up in Malden and graduated from Malden High School in 1964. She continued her education at Junior College for secretarial and then to Beauty School where she worked for many years as a hairdresser. Arleen was very creative, always making crafts, loved crocheting and making hand-made gifts for family and friends. She was sweet, warm, and very giving. She loved her family and was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She was also very active in her church, the Calvary Christian Church and was also raised Hebrew. She was the loving mother to her only daughter, Marissa Beth Collibee and her husband Michael, the doting nana to Mackenzie Scott Altavilla, Kayla Rose Collibee, and Liam Campbell. She was the sister of Albert Epstein and his wife Ann Marie, she is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Dolores Altavilla and Donna Silck of Florida. She was the aunt of 4 nephews, Barry and Daniel Baram and William and Brian Silck. She was predeceased by her sister Sheila Baram. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM with a Service at 7:30 PM. Burial will be on Saturday at 12:30 PM at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Lake St, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, her family has set up a Memorial Fund in her name: Arleen Altavilla Memorial Fund, C/O Marissa Collibee, 2 Coleman St, Peabody, MA 01960.
