Obituary of Barbara L (Thorpe) Bergstrom

Barbara L (Thorpe) Bergstrom, 72, of Plymouth and formerly of Peabody, died unexpectedly at her home. She was the devoted wife of the late Carl F. Bergstrom. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Morgan and Jessie Lee Thorpe. She was raised and educated in Peabody where she had lived most of her life before moving to Plymouth three years ago. Barbara was employed for over 20 years as a manager for McDonald’s with locations in Danvers and Peabody, before retiring. Barbara enjoyed reading, visiting the Salem Willows and trips to the beach. She also loved her tea and attending the Memorial Day Parade in Peabody. She also enjoyed traveling to Europe with Mary, but her favorite endeavor was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and sharing in all of their activities. Barbara is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Carl and Rebecca Bergstrom of Plymouth, and William and Karla Bergstrom of Hubbardston, her daughter, Traci and her husband Wayne Pace of Upton, her brother, William Thorpe of Peabody, her mother-in-law, Margaret Taddeo of Georgetown, her three sisters-in-law, Margaret Vaccaro of Beverly, Joan Rollins of Georgetown, and Patty Bonfanti of Gloucester, she is also survived by her beloved 6 grandchildren, Nicole, Riley, Anna, Matthew, Sean, and Megan and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Robert and George Thorpe and Nancy Willis. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody. Her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
