Obituary of Olga M. (Navarra) Bento

Olga M. (Navarra) Bento, 95 of Peabody, died peacefully on Friday, November 9, 2018 at her residence in the comforting presence of her family. She was the wife of the late Antonio S. “Babe” Bento who died in 2016. She was born in Beverly, MA on August 22, 1923 the daughter of the late Pasquale and Deonisia (Alfano) Navarra and was raised there and had resided in Peabody for the past 70 years. She had been employed at the GTE Sylvania Company at the Sylvan St., Danvers plant for 30 years prior to her retirement in 1985. Olga was very crafty with her hands and enjoyed doing knitting and crocheting. She loved to dance and traveled extensively with her husband. After her retirement she and her husband wintered in Kissimmee, Florida for many years. Her most precious time was spent with family and friends. She is survived by two daughters, Kim M. Bento-Lignos and Carol A. Bento, both of Peabody, a son and daughter-in-law, Bruce B. and Paula Bento of Fishkill, NY , her sisters, Josephine Sullivan and Malva Lindgren both of Beverly, and Virginia Bettencourt of Peabody, her grandchildren Brain Sullivan and his wife Stacey, Gino Bento and his wife Cassie and Antonio “Rocky” Bento, many great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the grandmother of the late Sean Bento and mother-in-law of the late Michael Lignos. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 13, from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral home at the 82 Lynn St, Peabody facility. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 am from the Funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass in ST. Thomas the Apostle Church, Peabody/Salem line at 10:00 AM.
