Obituary of J Scott Smith
Smith, J Scott, age 56, of Peabody, passed away on November 12, 2018, from heart disease. He was the loving son of Donald A. Smith and the late Elizabeth June (Olsen) Smith of Peabody, also survived by his devoted sister Christine L. Smith of Peabody and the late Duane F. Smith, uncle of Jennifer K. Smith of Littleton, CO and Jessica L. and her husband Akan Ekanem of New Market, NH and their children Aiden and Emmaleigh Ekanem as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends. Scott was a graduate of St. John’s Prep, Danvers and went on to St. Anselm College. He then managed his brother liquor store business before moving to Macon Georgia where he was a supervisor for Homeland Security for many years before retiring in 2016 to move back to Peabody to be with his family and friends. Scott enjoyed playing golf and played baseball all his life. He will be deeply missed by all. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. His funeral will be held on Friday at 9:30 AM from the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Adelaide’s Church, 708 Lowell St., West Peabody at 10:30 AM. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 in his memory.
