Obituary of Theodore P Soteropoulos

Theodore P. “Teddy” Soteropoulos, 69, of Peabody, died Sunday, November 18, 2018 at the Brudnick Center for the Living, Peabody after a long battle with multiple illnesses. He was born in Athens, Greece, the beloved son of the late Peter and Matoula Soteropoulos and immigrated to the United States in 1961, and had been a resident of Peabody for over 58 years. Despite being afflicted with Cerebral Palsy at birth, Ted found the courage and with strong support from his family led a productive and fulfilling life. He graduated from Peabody Veterans Memorial High School and later worked as a Maintenance Servicer for General Electric in Lynn, MA and the local 201 Union of Lynn for 25 years until his retirement in 2006. Ted loved the Red Sox and was static to see them win their latest World Series championship this past October. He had a deep and devoted passion for Bible Studies and was a devoted member of the Bible Standard Ministries. He also enjoyed playing his favorite game of Keno with his friends at the North Shore Mall food court. A Special thanks goes out to all the staff at the MGH Cancer Care Center, Danvers for the care and support provided for the past 6 years of Ted’s life. Ted is survived by his brother, George and his wife Kate Soteropoulos, nephew Peter Soteropoulos, niece Amy and Mark Vera, niece Kara and Bill VanSlyke and grand niece and nephew Kambry and Jayce Vera. He was also the nephew of Helen Viel and survived by many cousins as well. In keeping with his wishes, funeral services were private with burial in the family lot at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
