Obituary of Norman A. "Cookie" Regan

Norman A “Cookie” Regan, 73, of Peabody, died early Saturday morning at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Bonnie (Gilbert) Regan with whom he has shared over 48 years of marriage. Born in Everett, he was the son of the late Daniel T. and Norma S. (Ulwick) Regan. He was a life-long resident of Peabody and a graduate of the Peabody Vocational School Class of 1963. For many years following his graduation, Cookie was involved with maintenance at various employers, including Bay State Cleaning and the Northshore Shopping Centre. In 1984, he was employed at the Pingree School in South Hamilton with over 30 years of service and retired as the maintenance supervisor. He was considered the “Jack of All Trades” who enjoyed every aspect of his skillset, from electrical work to carpentry, at both the Pingree School and at home for his family and friends. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching Nascar and the New England Patriots. However, his favorite endeavor was being around his family, especially during the Christmas season, and bringing lots of joy and laughter to one and all. He will be missed dearly. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his daughter Kristine Sweeter of Whittingham, VT, his son Eric and his wife Dawn Regan of Peabody, his brother Paul and his wife Lynda Regan of Rowley, his sister Jodi Holmes of Haverhill, and his beloved five grandchildren: Gavin and Ryan Sweeter, Isabella and Olivia Regan, and Sage Stone. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Harley. He was predeceased by his brother, Daniel Regan. His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
