Obituary of Lillian (Aylward) Tenney
Lillian M. Tenney, 96, of Locust St., Danvers, Ma
and formerly of Peabody Ma., died Wednesday at the Twin Oaks Nursing Home,
Danvers ,after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Willard Tenney.
She was born in Salem, Ma. on November 29, 1907, the daughter of the late
David and Lillian (Goss) Aylward and was raised in Peabody where she graduated
from Peabody High School as Salutatorian in her class. She later graduated from
Radcliff College.
She became an English teacher in the Avon High School in Avon, Ma.for 15 years. She then moved back to Peabody and did substitute teaching at
Peabody Vets. Mem. High School for many years.
Following her retirement, she
became a volunteer at the Torigian Life Care Center in Peabody. She was a long time member of St. Peters Episcopal Church in Salem.
She is survived by a son, John C. Jack Tenney and a daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Nelson Brown all of Peabody, 2 brothers, Paul Aylward of Falmouth, Ma. And David Aylward of Lynn, Ma., a sister, Mary Pariseau of Danvers, Ma.,
8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services
Will be held on Friday, December 19, 2003 at the Family lot in Cedar Grove Cemetery,
Peabody at 1:00 P.M. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Expressions of sympathy
