Obituary of Kevin J. Heavey

Kevin J. Heavey, 66, of Peabody, died unexpectedly while on a cruise ship out of Miami, Florida on November 18, 2018. He was born in Boston, MA on May 11, 1952, the son of the late William and Elva (Barnett) Heavey and had resided in Mission Hill, Boston and later in Everett, MA before moving to Peabody 9 years ago. Kevin had been employed in the construction industry for 30 years working with Bay State Sweeping Co. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the US Navy prior to his discharge in 1973. Kevin had a love for watching his favorite sports teams, the Red Sox, Celtics, Patriots and Bruins. He also enjoyed classical rock music. He is survived by his devoted companion of thirty years, Nancy Iengo of Peabody and her children, Maria and her husband Dan Skinner of Peabody and Peter and his wife Katy Iengo of Ft. Collins, CO, his brothers, William and his wife Claire Heavey of Billerica, MA and Arnold Heavey of Everett, his sisters, Linda and her husband John Van Buskirk of Venice, Florida and Doris Chaplick of Salem, NH, five grandchildren who called him “Dat”, Avery, Addison, Elly, Alyse and Pete as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the brother of the late Donald Heavey. A Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody, facility. A Funeral will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM from the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Church, 16 Church St. Peabody.
