Obituary of Alfred Webster Lamprey
Alfred W. Lamprey, 83, of Peabody and formerly of Salem, died Saturday morning following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Joan (Quinn) Lamprey with whom he shared over 58 years of marriage. Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Maurice and Ina (Ramey) Lamprey. He was raised and educated in Salem and has lived in Peabody for the past 50 years. Alfred was employed for over 31 years as a machinist at the former United Shoe in Beverly before he retired. He was a member of the former Lafayette Street United Methodist Church in Salem and sang in the Choir as well. He also enjoyed bowling and golfing at the Far Corners Golf Course in Boxford. Besides his beloved wife of 58 years, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Sheena Lamprey of Boxford, his brother and sister-in-law, William and June Lamprey of Central Point, OR, his sister, Jane Holt of Derry, NH, his sister-in-law, Ellen Quinn and is also survived by his grandson, Ryan Lamprey. Following cremation, his visiting hours will be held on Saturday from 9:00 until 11:00 AM followed by his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his name to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St, Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
