Obituary of Carlos Machado

Carlos Machado, 73, of Port St. Lucie Florida and formerly of Peabody, MA died peacefully on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the Cleveland Clinic Hospice Unit in Weston, Florida with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of 50 years to Maria Gina (Silva) Machado. He was born in Graciosa, Azores, Portugal on July 13, 1945, the son of the late Arturo and Olivia (Conceicao) Machado and emigrated to the Untied States at the age of 15 settling in Peabody with his family. He had been employed as a production manager for 35 years with the Maynard Plastics/ Webster Industries in Salem prior to his retirement. He and his wife have resided in Port St. Lucie for the past 12 years. Carlos was an avid soccer fan and played many years for the Peabody Soccer Club. He also enjoyed going fishing and had memberships at both the Brotherhood of the Holy Ghost Society in Port St. Lucie and well as Peabody. He spent most of his time caring and doing for his family. He is survived by his wife Gina, of Port St. Lucie, a son Carlos Machado and his wife Stefanie and their son Jackson all of Methuen, a daughter, Julie Machado of Port St. Lucie, FL, his siblings Daniel Machado and Osvaldo Machado both of Peabody, John Machado of Port St., Lucie and Juvenal Machado of Alabama, Lidia Machado of Reading and Marie Bettencourt of Salem, MA and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Manuel and Valquirio Machado and Lenore Machado. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2018 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. His Funeral Service will be held there on Friday, December 21 at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in St Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
