Obituary of Deborah Monks Newton
Deborah Monks Newton, 71, passed away on December 6, 2018, in Gloucester, Massachusetts. Deb worked as a financial analyst for Northeast States for Coordinated Air Use Management (NESCAUM) for a number of years, commuting from her sweet home in the Lanesville village of Gloucester into Boston on the early train. Deb was a passionate pet lover, and mourned the passing of her beloved dog, Sailor. After retiring from NESCAUM, she realized her life-long dream of buying her own horse, JoJo, and she was devoted to him. Deb also leaves her lovely cats, Mystic and Dante, who, along with JoJo, will be well taken care of. Deb was predeceased by her father, William G. Newton Jr.; her mother, Doris Monks Newton; and her brother, William (Sam) G. Newton, III. Sam passed away in Gloucester in 2017. Deb leaves behind her cousins Peter French; Eric and Pam French; Peter Fish; Elizabeth Guardenier; John O. and Linda Monks; and many cherished friends. A special thank you for the outstanding care and kindness provided to Deb by her caregivers and friends over the past year. Burial services will be private. Memorial donations in Deb’s honor may be made to Cape Ann Animal Aid, 4 Paws Lane, Gloucester, MA 01930 (www.capeannanimalaid.org).
