Obituary of Peter J. "Butch" Manusiotis

Peter J. “Butch” Manusiotis, 67 PEABODY – Peter J. “Butch” Manusiotis, 67, died peacefully on Saturday December 15, 2018 at the Hunt Retirement and Skilled Nursing Center in Danvers, following a brief illness, while in the comforting presence of his cousin Perry and a few friends. Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late Peter and Mary (Clouthier) Manusiotis, and grew up with his father and his grandmother Nicoletta (Manusiotis) Stoupakis in Peabody. He graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1969. Mr. Manusiotis worked in a few different leather factories for 20 years. He then was a Lineman with Verizon for 25 years before retiring. Butch enjoyed most sports, and played softball in the Peabody Rec League, supported the Celtics, and cheered on the New York Yankees. He was an animal lover, had five cats over the years, and supported the Animal Rescue League and Northeast Animal Shelter. He was a jokester, who had a good sense of humor and mostly enjoyed giving in a way to help others. He is survived by a few family and few lifelong friends, including a cousin Perry Karakoudas and his wife Cheryl of Peabody, their sons Matthew, Daniel and Kevin; three close friends, John Kentros, Emmanuel “Manny” Papanicholas, and Charlie Helas. Following cremation, a Graveside Committal will be held in the family lot at Harmony Grove Cemetery in Salem. Memorial donations may be made to the Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave., Salem, MA 01970. Service planned with Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody.
