Obituary of Johanna (Coleman) O'Neill

Johanna (Coleman) O’ Neill 93 years of Peabody, wife of the late Michael O’ Neill, died Thursday afternoon at the Peabody Glen Nursing Home in Peabody. Mrs. O’ Neill was born August 30, 1910 in County Cork Ireland daughter of the late Daniel and Julia (O’ Connell) Coleman. She was raised and educated in Ireland and immigrated to the United States in 1930 and has been a resident of Peabody since 1936. Mrs. O’ Neill was employed as a nurse assistant at the former Danvers State Hospital from 1957 until her retirement in 1975. She was a member of St. John’ s Ladies Sodality, the Ladies Auxiliary A.O.H. Div. 11 and very involved at the Peabody A. Torigian Community Life Center all in Peabody. She enjoyed line dancing and was still participating at age 90. She loved sewing, crocheting, furniture refinishing and cooking especially apple pies. She is survived by 4 sons and 3 daughters-in-law, John Jackie O’ Neill, Michael and Irene O’ Neill all of Peabody, Daniel P. and Bonnie O’ Neill of No.Chelmsford, Joseph and Carmen O’ Neill of Conway Spring KS; 10 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Patrick, Daniel, Denis, Sean and Timothy Coleman, Nora Sheehan, Ellen Cashman and Margaret Shephard. Her funeral will be held Monday at 10 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St., Peabody location (978-531-0472) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, 16 Church St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Sunday 3 - 7 p.m. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Salem
