Obituary of Henry J. Peters

Henry (Hank) J. Peters, 85 of Cranston, R.I, and formerly of Salem, MA, died on Thursday, December 19, 2018 at the Cedar Crest Nursing Center in Cranston with his family by his side. He was the devoted husband of Joan (Michaud) Peters with whom he shared 64 years of marriage. He was born in Salem, MA on September 20, 1933, the son of the late Reginald H. Peters and Alva H. (Le Blanc) Peters who died shortly after his birth and was raised by his step-mother Elizabeth (Laverty) Peters. He was a graduate of Salem High School and had resided in Salem most of his life before moving to Cranston 3 months ago. Henry was a carpenter by trade and belonged to the Carpenters’ Union, Local 888 and also worked for Driscoll Construction. He worked in his profession for over 40 years prior to his retirement 25 years ago. He had been an equipment manager for the Musketeers and the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corp of Peabody for many years. He enjoyed all the family cook-outs, Holiday celebrations and traveling with his wife. Hank had a great love of his family and friends. He will be missed by many. He is survived by his wife, Joan, his children Susan A. Scatterday and her husband Bob of Ft. Myers, Fl, Joanne M. Rossi and her husband Frank of Cranston, R.I. and Joseph H. Peters and his wife Elana of Peabody, his precious grandchildren Amanda L. Muniz and her husband Ariel of Revere and Joseph M. Peters of Salem, his beloved great grandchildren, Nevaeh Leigh Muniz, Elliana Bella Muniz and Jaylyssa A. Muniz. He also leaves behind his godchildren, nieces and nephews. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 9:30 until 10:45 A.M at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur funeral home at the (82 Lynn Street.) Peabody facility followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Thomas the Apostle Church Rte. 114 Peabody/Salem line at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
