Obituary of Evelyn R. (Domingos) Griffin

Evelyn (Domingos) Griffin, 88 PEABODY – Evelyn (Domingos) Griffin, 88, beloved wife of Joseph E. Griffin, Sr. of Peabody, died peacefully on Wednesday morning December 26, 2018 at the Rosewood Skilled Nursing & Rehab Center in Peabody, following an extended illness. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Sancho and Mary (Figuerado) Domingos. She grew up in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School. Mrs. Griffin worked at Marshall’s Department Store in Peabody and Danvers. She later worked as a Demonstrator at Costco in Danvers, and later at B.J.’s in Danvers. Evelyn enjoyed taking trips during winter in Florida, and mostly being at home with family. She is survived by her husband Joseph E. Griffin, Sr. of Peabody, with whom she shared 67 years of marriage; a son Joseph E. Griffin and his wife Denise of Middleton; a daughter Linda M. Sacco, and her late husband Joseph, of Peabody; five grandchildren, Dawn, Jennifer, Derek, Cherstyn and the late Joey Griffin, III; two great-grandchildren Madyson and Savannah, and several nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Rose Skelley. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Monday at 10 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 – 5 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
