Obituary of Ralph G. Snow
Ralph G. Snow, 89 PEABODY – Ralph G. Snow, 89, beloved husband of Dorothy (Gracie) Snow, died unexpectedly on Wednesday December 26, 2018 at the Lahey Medical Center Hospital in Burlington after a recent fall at his home. Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Alvin W. and Kathleen (MacDonald) Snow. He grew up in Clyde River, Nova Scotia with his family. He returned to Massachusetts to enlist in the United States Army Air Corps just after World War II. Following his discharge from military service, he enrolled at the Peterson School in Boston and earned a Diesel Engineer License. He was a Steam Engineer with the Metropolitan District Commission (MDC) around the Greater Boston area for several years before working as an Diesel Engineer with the City of Peabody Electric Light Department. He enjoyed a 27-year career there, retiring in 1987. Ralph enjoyed hunting, freshwater fishing, gardening, taking road trips and camping in the White Mountains of New Hampshire with his family. He also enjoyed singing with the Sound of Men Gospel Group. He was devoted in his faith as he was a Deacon at the Second Congregational Church in Peabody for many years. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend who touched many in his unique way, and will be dearly missed by those he touched. He is survived by his wife Dorothy (Gracie) Snow of Peabody, with whom he shared 64 wonderful years of marriage; a son and three daughters, Ralph Snow and his wife Heather of Lutz, FL, Kathleen Crotts and her husband Sean of Danville, NH, Sandra Snow of West Paris, ME, and Karen Bogdan and her husband Douglas of Naples, ME; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Douglas Snow, Marjorie Fisher and Geraldine Markow. Following cremation, relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for a Funeral Service on Saturday January 5, 2019 at 10 AM in the Second Congregational Church in Peabody. A visitation will be held on Friday from 5 – 8 P.M. in the funeral home. Urn Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Donations in lieu of flowers should be made to the Memorial Fund at the Second Congregational Church, 12 Maple St., Peabody, MA 01960.
