Obituary of Peter F. Lendall

Peter F. Lendall, 76, of Effingham, NH and formerly of Peabody, MA died Monday afternoon at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital in New Hampshire following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of the late Dale (Craddock) Lendall and the former husband of Judy Sousa of Peabody. Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Joseph and Janet (Dalton) Lendall. He was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1961. He has lived in Effingham for the past 12 years. Peter was first employed as a truck driver doing long distance and local transportation for Kmart and Pickering Oil and was a member of the Teamsters as well. He later worked for the city of Peabody at the water treatment plant for many years before he retired in 2005. Peter enjoyed riding his Harley throughout the mountain region of New Hampshire and Vermont with his biker friends. He later enjoyed carving and woodworking. He was an animal lover and loved having his Boston Terriers. Peter is survived by his two sons, Joseph “Jay” and his wife Stephanie Lendall of Medford and Peter F Lendall, Jr and his wife Jean of Peabody, his beloved four grandchildren, Knox, Derek, Dana, and Erica Lendall and by several good friends in Peabody and New Hampshire. He was predeceased by his two sisters, Janet Lendall and Ellyn Mitchell and by his beloved Boston Terriers, Douglas and Charlie. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 2:00 until 5:00 PM and Monday from 10:30 – 11:30 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody followed by his Funeral Service at 11:30 at the funeral home to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Cedar Grove Ave, Peabody.
