Obituary of RoseMarie (Gatchell) Conway

RoseMarie (Gatchell) Conway, 78, of Peabody, died Sunday evening at her home surrounded by her family after a short illness. She was the wife of the late Martin J. Conway Jr. She was born in Peabody on April 19, 1928, the daughter of the late Philip and Mildred (Amor) Gatchell and was a life long resident of the city. She was a graduate of Peabody High School in 1945. She had been a supervisor with the CIT division of the former NE Tel & Tel Company at the Salem office for more than 30 years prior to her retirement. She had been a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, Salem Branch, and the IBEW of NE Tel & Tel Co. She was also a member of the North Shore Mall Walkers and loved traveling to Vegas, playing Keno, and doing crossword puzzles. What she cherished most was being for her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her four children, Maureen and her husband John Erekson and Michael Martin Conway all of Peabody, Kathleen and her husband Joseph Reginaldi of Mims, Fl, and Doreen and her husband Robert Bonia of Peabody; a brother and sister-in-law, Philip and Inge Gatchell of Germany, her sisters and brothers-in-law, Mildred and Frank Davidson of Peabody and Patricia and Roland Codair of Georgetown, a sister-in-law, Barbara Gatchell of Bradford, 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Edward Gatchell. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the new 82 Lynn St. Peabody location. Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 10:00 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM in St. John’s Church, Peabody. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Danvers.
