Obituary of Joseph A. "Joe" Di Orio Jr.
Joseph A. “Joe” Di Orio Jr. 84, of Peabody, formerly of Lynnfield and Everett, died peacefully on January 9th the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers with his family by his side. He was the devoted husband of 60 years to Joanne C. (Walsh) Di Orio. Joe was born in Everett on August 6, 1934, the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Bucchiero) Di Orio and was raised there and later resided in Lynnfield before moving to Peabody 23 years ago. He was the proprietor of the D.B.I. Waste Systems for the past 60 years. Joe had been a disabled veteran of the Korean War where he served in Alaska before his discharge in 1956. He was a very caring husband, father and grandfather taking care of his family and his dog “Sam”. He enjoyed going to the casinos in Massachusetts, Connecticut and Las Vegas. He is survived by his wife Joanne Di Orio of Peabody, his children and their spouses, Doreen and John Cusolito of Wenham, Diane Di Orio of Wakefield, Kim Di Orio -McGonnell of Peabody, Thomas and Michelle Di Orio of Tewksbury and William and Dawn Di Orio of Stoneham, his precious grandchildren, Brianna, Tyler, Joseph, Michael, Christopher and Matthew and several great grandchildren, his sisters, Edith Romano of Revere and Marie Prezioso Saugus, and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 13, 2019 from 1:00 until 5:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. His funeral will be held on Monday at 9:00 AM from the Funeral home followed by a funeral Mass in Our Lady of Assumption Church, Grove St., Lynnfield at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Peabody. Expressions of sympathy may be made to ST. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in his memory.
